Japanese video game developer Media Vision isn’t exactly known for SRPGs, and taking the Wild Arms series to a new direction on Sony’s handheld surprised many, but anyone can get excited after browsing through a few pages of XF‘s website. Fans of tactical roleplaying games on the Sony PlayStation Portable would do themselves justice if they check out the website publisher XSEED Games recently launched, unless they want to miss out on a promising title. You’ll learn about it at the full article.Īfter a long wait, Wild ARMs XF (pronounced as Crossfire) is finally nearing its March 17 release in North America. Yes, we’re talking about another strategy RPG on the Sony PlayStation Portable that broke Wild ARMs conventions but should provide hours of fun. I would say this game is almost as good as the original Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1, and it is a must-own for PSP owners.XSEED Games just sent word that Wild ARMs XF‘s official website is now online. The pros far outweigh the cons, the game is quite fun and presents a nice challenge but is not overly difficult as some people say, as long as you have a good sense for strategy you will be fine. Overall Review: Don't believe what some mainstream review sites say about this game, the only cons I could think of are very minor issues that can easily be overlooked. Pros: Graphics are much better than screenshots, voice acting for most dialogue (choice between English and Japanese as well), wide variety in mission objectives, uniquely distinct classes (no 2 classes are even remotely the same), decent story, hex system, presents a nice challenge, and the fact that its another great Wild Arms game though it diverges from the RPGs.Ĭons: No animated cutscenes like the RPGs, may be too difficult for those inexperienced with tactical/strategy RPGs, items must be re-equipped after changing classes.
